As part of the State Visit of the President of Ghana to Singapore, the Foreign Ministers of both nations—Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) of Ghana and Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan of Singapore—engaged in a productive bilateral dialogue aimed at reinforcing cooperation across strategic sectors. Their discussions focused on advancing shared interests and unlocking new areas of collaboration. Key outcomes included: A mutual commitment to resume and finalise negotiations on the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT); Plans to revitalise the Dry Dock project and expand the Tema Port. The construction of a new oil ship jetty to support energy logistics; Support from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority to establish certified testing laboratories in Ghana for durable road construction materials; An initiative to develop a unified digital payment system between the central banks of both countries to enhance cross-border trade between Africa and Asia.
