GHANA MISSION ENGAGES TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY (TUAT) – ADVANCING RESEARCH AND EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS
The Head of the Ghana Mission in Tokyo, H.E. Mrs. Geneviève Edna Apaloo, welcomed Prof. Dr. Ryo Funada, Dean of the Institute of Agriculture at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) , to discuss strengthening Ghana-Japan academic and research collaboration in agriculture. Joined by Japanese lawmaker Ms. Michiko Ueno and Dr. Siaw Onwona-Agyeman, Associate Professor at TUAT, the meeting focused on deepening cooperation in areas such as agricultural innovation, student and faculty exchanges, sustainable farming, and food security. TUAT shared its global research contributions in genome science, robotics in agriculture, and organic solutions—aligning with Ghana’s development goals. The TUAT team is scheduled to visit Ghana later this month for institutional engagements, field visits, and stakeholder meetings aimed at co-developing targeted agricultural solutions and youth training programmes. The Mission looks forward to supporting these efforts and expanding Ghana’s partnerships with leading Japanese academic institutions.
