GHANAIAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY HOLDS SPECIAL PRAYER IN SAITAMA
On March 16, 2025, the Ghana Mission in Japan joined members of the Ghanaian Muslim community for a special prayer and thanksgiving service in Soka, Saitama Prefecture. The Chief Imam, Mallam Shaaban, led the prayers, asking for continued peace, health, and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
Dr. Adaga Sam, President of the Ghana Association, expressed sincere appreciation to the Embassy for its ongoing support of the Muslim community over the past three years. He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working closely with the Mission to maintain peaceful cooperation.
Ambassador Genevieve Apaloo also addressed the gathering, commending the smooth political transition in January 2025 as another win for Ghana’s democracy. She urged the community to remain united, avoid internal divisions, and continue working collectively toward development. In an open Q&A session, the Ambassador took time to respond to questions on issues like customs duties and consular services.
Professor Samuel Amponsah, Interim President of the Ghana Association in Japan, used the occasion to officially introduce the newly revamped Ghana Association. He noted that the refreshed body aims to advocate for the welfare and interests of all Ghanaians living in Japan.
