MESSAGE FROM AMB. FRANK OKYERE
Fellow Ghanaians in Japan and Singapore, as you may be aware, ever since the first cases of the novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) infections were detected, the world has changed. There has been a disruption in travel, business and daily life everywhere. Japan and Singapore have not been exceptions, and have both rolled out measures to combat the spread of the virus.
In this difficult period of uncertainty, I urge you all to stay calm and observe all the measures outlined by the Governments of Japan and Singapore in combatting the virus (Staying home, social distancing, frequent hand washing with soap and wearing of masks outside the house) for our mutual protection. These are not normal times and as such let us all be guided by all the directives given by our host authorities for our own good.
Back home in Ghana, the Government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also rolled out several measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, as well as the setting up of a COVID-19 Trust Fund to cater for the needy and vulnerable. I, therefore, urge all of you to contribute to the fund.
While the Embassy is now teleworking from home and only open on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 14:00pm with limited staff until further notice, the number 090-9645-7816 may be contacted in case of any emergency.
I am hopeful that we will go through this difficult period and emerge much stronger. I assure you of the Embassy`s support in such challenging times and trust that our homeland Ghana will remain great and strong.
Remember to stay home, stay safe and healthy. I thank you.
