PRESIDENT MAHAMA HONOURED WITH ORCHID NAMING IN SINGAPORE
[OTHER-IMAGES]
Dec 31-2025
The Embassy of Ghana in Japan is pleased to report that during his State Visit to Singapore, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama was honoured with the naming of a new orchid hybrid — “Vanda John Dramani Mahama” — at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The gesture is part of Singapore’s prestigious VIP Orchid Programme, reserved for visiting heads of state and other distinguished leaders, and symbolises enduring diplomatic goodwill and friendship between Ghana and Singapore. President Mahama toured the National Orchid Garden, signed the official visitors' book, and received a briefing on Singapore’s botanical heritage. “Vanda John Dramani Mahama” now joins a global collection of floral tributes dedicated to world leaders — a living symbol of Ghana’s deepening ties with Singapore. The Embassy recognises this tribute as a unique and meaningful gesture and looks forward to building on this growing partnership.
